How do clean eating breakfast cookies sound to you? I was doing groceries the other day and came across a brand I had never seen before called Rogers. They are from Canada! I bought two bags of oats. Steel cut and porridge. On the back of the porridge bag was a recipe for breakfast cookies. I tweaked it a little to make it clean for me. I omitted the sugar and the cranberries as I couldn’t find any that did not have sugar added to them. I changed the oil to grapeseed, 1 tsp of nutmeg, and I added 1/3 cup of hemp hearts for extra protein.
I changed the baking times too. I like my oatmeal cookies a little crispier than chewy so I wanted these to have the same texture and consistency. I wasn’t disappointed.
I can’t wait to add different ingredients the next time I make it. Like Bananas. These cookies are filling and healthy for those mornings when you’re on the go.
My children and husband really enjoyed these to the point where they want them every week. That would be great and it would be even better to teach it to my husband so he can bake them!
