A new room makeover is easier than you think and very affordable. Every winter and summer I change my room around. I do the same thing to my living room, but yesterday it was time for a bedroom change.
I have a nomadic soul at times and sometimes it’s great to freshen things up. Moving furniture around is a great way to get a new look in your home for free.
I was looking at my room, focusing very intently on the furniture. My husband was putting clothes away and tidying up. Occasionally looking at me. I watched him, and I’m sure I had this look on my face. A look he has seen so many times over the last seven-teen years.
” Honey, do you feel like changing the room around?”
All I heard was a man sigh. A sigh that said it didn’t really feel like it, but somehow it was resigned to the fact that this was going to happen anyway. I smiled sweetly and uttered the dreaded fateful words. ” Come on, it won’t take long at all.”
Keep in mind that yesterday was Sunday. Sunday is football day. I was smart enough to ask at the end of one game. What can I say? I’m a wily coyote.
An hour later we had transformed the room in a way that we never tried before. We also stripped the bed, washed all the linens, dusted, vacuumed, flipped the mattress and box springs, by mean flip I really mean rotate the head to the feet.
I even brought out some pictures and changed a few from other rooms to freshen up the old walls that need to be painted.
So we were left with a clean, very cozy room. A very firm and newly made bed, ready for cuddling. I commented on the bed and got the old eyebrow waggle. Did I actually think I would get to change my entire room around, and the bed too, without a little something, something as a reward?
Well as it turns out as soon as we got in that nice cozy, firm bed, in that nice cozy newly makeover room, we were just so snug, we passed out.
It was the quickest room makeover and when I came home form work today and walked in I was super happy with the results. My kids were thrilled with the room as well.
Now the only problem is getting the kids out.
